Northern Thailand is a different scenario than what you would find throughout the rest of the country. Its cities are not as busy and hectic as central Bangkok, and dreamy beaches or island hopping is not really the thing either (unlike the south). This part of the country is landlocked between Laos and Myanmar.
The region is filled with indigenous ethnic groups, mountains, historical and religious sights, wildlife and positive vibes. The climate is way cooler and the cheapest way to get there from Thailand’s capital Bangkok is via a night coach. Not only it’s cheaper than a flight, but it will save you a night’s accommodation (not that it’s expensive in Thailand, but anyways 😜)
These temples in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are already more than enough to give you a reason to visit northern Thailand. Experiencing other religions is indeed beautiful, and as different as they are from one another, the end game is very similar if not exactly the same!
